The Salvation

BOOK I · NOVEL · LUC ARDEN

The Salvation

The Salvation begins not with a constitution but with a man trying to keep his life together. Mike Harris has work, bills and responsibilities. Luc Arden builds a thriller around this familiar pressure and the unexpected consequences of an idea that begins to unsettle his understanding of the world.

A READER’S GUIDE

A thriller rooted in ordinary life

Mike is not a ready-made hero. His uncertainty and fear are part of what makes his growing ambition interesting. The story gains tension from the gulf between his circumstances and the forces he finds himself confronting.

Arden uses suspense and escalating danger to explore how a person begins questioning assumptions that once seemed permanent. The social themes emerge through the character’s experiences rather than arriving as an opening lecture.

This is the natural starting point for Libertalia. Before the Eleven Rings of the second book or the numbered proposals of the third, there is a story about one person discovering that a different future might be imaginable.

This is a work of fiction. The extended social thought experiment is developed in the three volumes of Book III, The Way to Liberty.
